ELEVATE YOUR PRACTICE

Immersion with Alex Perez

12–14 March 2027

A yoga practice is not limited to a collection of postures; it is also everything that happens in between.

Most practitioners spend years learning postures, but very little time learning what happens between them. Yet the transitions are where yoga begins to resemble a moving meditation.

A Weekend of Practice, Connection & Community

This 12-hour, two-day immersion lays the foundation for connecting the dots in your practice. It will give you both the foundational and practical tools to master transitions, from simple jump forwards and jump backs to more advanced skills like pressing to handstand and arm balance progressions.

The weekend is organized as a progression of four workshops, each 3h, offered as a complete Saturday & Sunday package.

Alex is not only an outstanding teacher with a broad skill set and a deep understanding of movement and practice; he also has a special ability to cultivate a strong sense of community, to touch people, and to bring them into genuine connection with one another.

You can look forward to a rich and nourishing weekend of practice, learning, challenge and connection.

The immersion concludes on Sunday with a Sangha singing circle, bringing the weekend to a shared and heartfelt close.

For yoga teachers, the full four-workshop immersion can be counted as 12 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP).

Who is this immersion for?

This immersion is for curious and dedicated yoga practitioners who want to move beyond individual postures and develop a more intelligent, fluid and connected practice.

You do not need to be able to handstand or perform advanced arm balances. What matters is a solid foundation in yoga, openness to explore, and a willingness to work with detail, repetition and progression.

THE WEEKEND

WORKSHOP ONE
The Language of Movement

We understand the principles that create effortless movement.

Includes the practice of the major functional squats; hip and spinal flexion as key actions for controlling the body; the science of hand placement; the biomechanics of the shoulders and hips and their practical application in creating stability and mobility.

Saturday, March 13 | 09:00–12:00

WORKSHOP TWO
Floating

We learn to make the body light.

Exploring the practice of jumping forwards and backwards with lightness. An introduction to the elusive press to handstand. Jumping through to seated and using compression to create lightness.

Saturday, March 13 | 14:00–17:00

WORKSHOP THREE
Connecting Shapes

We connect the dots between the poses.

Developing the practice of transitions, from standing to arm balances and more complex combinations. An in-depth exploration of the center of gravity and the power of weight transfer; efficiency vs strength in moving from one pose to the next.

Sunday, March 14 | 09:00–12:00

WORKSHOP FOUR
Flow

We learn to forget.

Putting it all together and tapping into the wisdom of the body, a signature Grace Yoga flow with Alex. Sangha: finishing the weekend with a singing circle, we acknowledge tradition and community.

Sunday, March 14 | 14:00–17:00

What you will take away

Over the course of the weekend, you will develop a deeper understanding of how movement works — and how to apply that understanding directly to your own practice.

You will leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of transitions, weight transfer and center of gravity.

  • Practical tools for moving with more lightness, control and efficiency.

  • A deeper understanding of the biomechanics of the shoulders, hips and spine.

  • Progressions for jump forwards, jump backs, arm balances and press to handstand.

  • Greater awareness of how to connect individual postures into a fluid, intelligent practice.

  • New inspiration for your own practice and, if you teach, for your classes.

For yoga teachers, the full four-workshop immersion can be counted as 12 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP).

FAQ

Do I need to be able to handstand or do advanced arm balances?

No. You do not need to have an advanced asana practice to join. The immersion is designed as a progression, with different options and variations so you can work at your own level. A regular yoga practice and curiosity about movement are the most important prerequisites.

Is this immersion suitable for yoga teachers only?

No. The weekend is open to dedicated yoga practitioners as well as yoga teachers. Teachers may especially benefit from the deeper understanding of movement, biomechanics and transitions, but teaching experience is not required.

Can I book individual workshops?

The four workshops on Saturday and Sunday are offered as one complete immersion package, as they build progressively on one another. The Friday evening Masterclass can be booked separately.

Can the immersion be counted as Yoga Alliance continuing education?

Yes. Yoga teachers who complete all four workshops can count the full 12-hour immersion as 12 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP).

What language will the immersion be taught in?

The immersion will be taught in English.

What should I bring?

Yoga mats and props are available at the studio. We recommend bringing comfortable practice clothes, a water bottle and something to take notes with if you wish.

What if I have an injury or physical limitation?

Please let us know before the workshop and speak to Alex at the beginning of the session. Whenever possible, variations and modifications can be offered, but participation should always be adapted to your individual needs.

What can I expect from the weekend beyond the physical practice?

Alongside detailed movement practice and technical exploration, the weekend is designed to create space for connection, curiosity and community. The immersion concludes on Sunday with a Sangha singing circle, bringing everyone together for a shared closing experience.
